Peer to Peer Fundraiser Guide for Code:You
Peer to Peer fundraising is one of the most impactful ways you can support Code:You on Giving Day, and we have some tools to help guide you:
- Check out our slideshow with instructions on how to set up a fundraiser
- View our video tutorial below.
- Tips for customizing your fundraiser page:
- Title – A straightforward way to let folks know what your fundraiser is for (example – [Your Name’s] Fundraiser for Code:You)
- Tagline – Let folks know why/what you’re fundraising for; some examples:
- Help me raise money for tech training programs through Code:You
- Support the growing tech ecosystem in the Commonwealth
- Help support the next wave of tech talent in Kentucky
- Support a program that has helped over 1,100 adults launch exciting new careers in technology
- Fundraising Goal – Choose something that seems ambitious, yet attainable; we think $500 is a great start. This is simply a goal, not an amount that you’re beholden to after the fundraiser if it is not met
- Timeline – The day of the event is September 12, 2024
- Story – Craft a narrative around why you’re fundraising for Code:You, and this can also be used as social media messaging.
- Share your story about how you became involved with the program, what your role is (student, alumni, mentor, partner, etc.), how the program has affected your life, why the Code:You mission resonates with you, or any other information you think would be helpful to share with potential donors.
- See examples of social media posts below for inspiration, and reach out to someone on our team if we can help with ideas and editing.
