Who Can Be a Mentor?
Any industry professional with a passion for coding and a desire to make a difference. You have what it takes to be a valuable mentor at Code:You! We’re looking for individuals with 6 months or more of industry experience, a solid grasp of their programming language, patience, and a willingness to help aspiring coders. As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your knowledge, guide learners, and contribute to the growth of the tech community. Not only will you inspire the next generation of developers, but you’ll also expand your network, refine your communication skills, and gain a sense of fulfillment by helping others achieve their goals. Become a mentor and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of coding.
Online meetings
Attend and be involved with a weekly virtual meetup (6-8 p.m. EST) one night per week for up to 20 weeks.
Provide Guidance
Answer questions, lead discussions, review projects, and offer advice to students in a programming language of your choice.
Work Together
Work with other mentors to help your class stay on track, involved, and interested.
Be Professional
Maintain professionalism and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
Mentors get to help people learn and have those ‘a-ha’ moments. It’s a really great, enriching experience.

What’s your expertise?
We are constantly trying new classes, so let us know if you are interested in something special. We regularly offer classes in Front-end Web Development, C#, Python, and JavaScript, and occasionally have run classes in Android, iOS, Salesforce, Tableau, UX Design, PHP, and Ruby. If you don’t see your preferred stack, reach out and we may be able to create a new class!
As a mentor you get to work with up-and-coming software developers first hand. It’s a great way to find talented candidates.
