The curriculum is not completely introductory to tech, but if you’re a natural problem solver who already feels comfortable with technology, you’d be a great fit for our program. Apply and Complete Prework
Eligible applicants will hear from our team about eight weeks before the start of every new session to complete the required pre-work to gain entry to the program. The pre-work process gives applicants a taste of what they’ll be learning throughout the program, and introduces them to the online learning platform we utilize. Please note, we have a long waiting list, so it may be several months before you hear from us. Be sure to whitelist the code-you.org domain to receive our messages in your inbox. Learn Basic Programming Principles
Our intro module lays the foundation for what participants will learn throughout the rest of the course. Integral skills like Git and GitHub, a mastery of the command line (CLI), and computer and Internet basics will level-set and ensure participants are ready to embark on their coding journeys.

Choose a Learning Pathway
After completing the intro module, participants will choose a learning pathway that best fits their interests and career goals in tech. Each pathway consists of four modules that build on one another to progress from beginner to more advanced concepts. We connect participants with mentors who are experienced developers and can give guidance on what it takes to work in tech. Participants can expect to spend around 15-20 hours of time each week on their work, including a weekly virtual meetup with mentors and fellow participants.

Complete a CAPSTONE PROJECT
Tech is a “show-me” industry; employers want to see the skills their applicants have, not just hear about them on a resume. Participants in our program complete a series of knowledge checks and small code challenges along the way that will ultimately lead to completion of a capstone project. Projects are unique to the participant, and showcase all of their new tech skills.

LAUNCH YOUR NEW CAREER!
Our team works with participants throughout the program to ensure they’re ready to hit the job market upon successful completion. Each step of the course has a career readiness component including workshops, resume reviews, and tech events, as well as one on one time with our career readiness staff.
Requirements
The program is 100% free to participants, but they must have consistent access to a desktop or laptop (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and the Internet. A brand new computer is not necessary, but a Chromebook will not suffice. If you do not have a computer, let us know, and we may be able to help you get one.
While you don’t need to be a computer expert, you should feel comfortable working with computers. Things like searching for files, organizing folders on your computer, installing applications and changing settings are the kinds of things you should at the very least be comfortable with. Otherwise, eligible applicants are adults who reside in one of the counties we serve who have a strong interest in entering the tech industry as a career, and are willing to put in the work to make it happen.
