About Code:You

Code:You encompasses Code Louisville and Code Kentucky, and is part of KentuckianaWorks—a non-profit workforce organization. The program aims to equip Kentucky residents with software development skills to secure entry-level tech positions. Code:You supports participants through training, mentorship, career preparation, and connections with employers. Aiming to foster diversity, Code:You builds a supportive learning community that inspires participants to excel in tech careers.


Role Summary

The Training Coordinator will support Code:You’s training programs by evaluating training materials, facilitating workshops, as well as working with and recruiting volunteer mentors.

The primary responsibilities of the Training Coordinator are:

  • Managing multiple training projects for adult learners in technology fields.
  • Designing and implementing campaigns to recruit volunteer mentors, promoting community engagement.
  • Reviewing and enhancing curriculum to ensure course quality, while identifying additional resources.
  • Evaluating participant assignments and offering constructive feedback.
  • Engaging regularly with staff, mentors, and students through virtual meetings, online platforms (e.g., Slack), and occasional in-person events.
  • Supporting adult career changers in their transition to tech careers.
  • Promoting an inclusive, equitable learning environment that welcomes diverse participants.
  • Encouraging a positive outlook on technology as a viable and exciting career pathway.
  • Performing additional duties to ensure program success.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Background in training facilitation, curriculum design, or software development.
  • Proven ability to create inclusive, engaging learning environments for adult learners.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in virtual settings (video conferencing, chat platforms).
  • Familiarity with workforce development, career services, and employer partnerships.
  • Knowledge of software development principles is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined in a remote work environment.
  • Occasional travel within Kentucky may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance are required.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Must be available during evening training classes (5:30-8pm Tuesday – Thursday)
  • Flexible scheduling, with the option of working four 10-hour days (Monday–Thursday).
  • Occasional Friday events may be required.
