Code:You encompasses Code Louisville and Code Kentucky, and is part of KentuckianaWorks—a non-profit workforce organization. The program aims to equip Kentucky residents with software development skills to secure entry-level tech positions. Code:You supports participants through training, mentorship, career preparation, and connections with employers. Aiming to foster diversity, Code:You builds a supportive learning community that inspires participants to excel in tech careers.
Role Summary
As a Regional Training Coordinator, you will support Code:You’s mission by coordinating hybrid training programs that combine in-person and remote instruction. This role will support the training progress of residents in 12 specific Kentucky counties through facilitating classes and engaging with participants and mentors.
The primary responsibilities of the Training Coordinator are:
- Take a creative approach to finding what keeps participants engaged and active in their training
- Leading both in-person and virtual training sessions for adult learners in technology fields
- Managing multiple projects related to training schedules and student engagement
- Recruiting and supporting volunteer mentors to create a robust learning community
- Reviewing and updating course content to ensure relevance and quality
- Providing feedback on participant projects to enhance learning outcomes
- Collaborating with program staff, mentors, and participants through various communication channels
- Promoting an inclusive environment that encourages diverse learners to pursue careers in technology
- Coordinate with Community Coordinator to engage with students in the region and provide the best training experience you can
- Traveling within the 12-county region as needed to conduct classes and attend events
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong background in teaching, curriculum design, or related fields
- Familiarity with software development principles is preferred
- Ability to work in a hybrid role (remote and in-person) with comfort in virtual communication tools (e.g., video conferencing, Slack)
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Additional Requirements
- Must reside in or near South Eastern Kentucky, and able to travel around these counties: Bell, Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, Pike, Harlan, Leslie, Knott, Letcher, Perry, or Knox
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the region
Work Schedule and Benefits
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Occasional attendance during evening events and training classes (5:30-8pm Monday – Thursday)
- Flexible scheduling, with the option of working four 10-hour days (Monday–Thursday).
- Occasional Friday events may be required.
