Full Job Description

Code:You (consisting of Code Louisville and Code Kentucky) is a family of tech-training programs of KentuckianaWorks, a non-profit workforce organization. Code:You’s goal is to train Kentucky residents in software development for the purpose of obtaining entry-level technology positions, particularly in the space of software development/programming. The program will recruit participants, assess their skill level in technology, provide them access to training options, connect them with volunteer technology professionals, help them write a resume, prepare them for the job search, and help connect them to tech employers. The program seeks to create a diverse community of positive learning and growth in the tech space, encouraging students to become engaged and active in software development. 

The Marketing Coordinator is a part-time position that will focus on the marketing, branding, social media, and other communication aspects of the programs, with the goal of creating a consistent message, helping promote the program’s goals, and creating clear communication to both internal and external audiences. The primary tasks for this role include:

  • Take charge of creating content and posting it through multiple social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Work with the existing team to publish messages and other content, and support the goals of the program and individual teams
  • Make regular social media posts, reply to comments, and report on any issues or challenges
  • Develop materials such as flyers, other visual media to promote upcoming events, highlight program happenings, etc.
  • Participate in regular marketing team meetings where content and strategy are discussed
  • Attend weekly marketing/social media meeting during daytime work hours
  • Have a positive, people-oriented attitude that promotes an atmosphere that technology is a viable pathway for everyone and an exciting career to pursue
  • Other duties necessary to promote the success of the program

Job Skills/Requirements

  • Experience working with digital marketing, social media for organizations, communications, or other relevant experience
  • A strong ability to communicate clearly and understand the ins-and-outs of social media and Code:You’s programs
  • Knowledge of software development principles is a strong plus.
  • Work will predominantly be done remotely/work-from-home, so comfort with staying on task and focused from home is a necessity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in online-only formats such as online chat and video conference is critical.
